Job Context

• Should knowledge about costing & Marketing. 

Job Responsibility 

• Review weekly progress, utilization, yarn backing and balances and take necessary steps to resolve any exceptions.
• Avoid air freights and make necessary arrangements to communicate potential air freights and claims with Business Manager and Marketing Manager swiftly.
• Weekly review of factory capacity allocation, utilization and supplier strategy with the central capacity planning department.
• Review business levels, follow up to get loading figures, compare against the previous season and work to grow business.
• Review weekly on-time yarn IH %. Knit on-time and resolve exceptions if there are delays to produce and deliver on time.
• Daily review of alerts and notifications under orders and maintain data up to date data in internal systems.
• Review detailed cost sheets with Business Managers and Product Managers to meet target prices of Customer to secure business.
• Check margins and work to maintain target margin and share price benefit to management where ever we can.
• Make sure merchandising, technical and risk analysis meetings are carried out to ship quality product.
• Review new business and identify the risk of the product, and make arrangements to increase focus to minimize risks.
• Monthly review of business objectives and follow up / plan to achieve objectives.

Dealing with the Customer:

• Take care of the customer and understand the needs of the customer and service to meet the needs.
• Make sure emails are responded within 24 hours and follow up with regular phone calls to build a strong relationship.
• Contact Customer’s merchandising and buying teams to understand concerns and obtain regular feedback to improve weaker areas highlighted and maintain strengths.

Essential Skills & Requirements:

• Over 5-6 years sourcing and merchandising experience in Knitwear apparel products.
• At least 2 years working at Sr. Merchandiser level, leading a team.
• A strong sourcing network and good understanding of UK / EU market trend is a must.
• Excellent project management skills and leadership skills.
• Self-motivated, independent, proactive. Able to work under pressure calmly.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a service mindset and ability to build strong working relationships.
• Good command of written and spoken English and computer literacy.

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Textile Technology
