Job Content 

The Junior Merchandiser will be accountable for working closely with the team and ensuring effective follow up from product development and sampling stage till shipment ensuring seamless execution of daily tasks and timely dispatch in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Job responsibility -

·        Follow up on production and samples with factories and ensure related procedures

·        Support in the preparation of the QA files to hand it over on time for both buyer and QA

·        Execute steps in the merchandising cycle (File / Record keeping / Sampling / TNAs / QA file making / Production follow ups / Shipment booking)

·        Execute trims, accessories, fabric sourcing (overseas and local)

·        Coordinate and monitor quality of the product through quality personnel

·        Study enquiry received with senior merchant

·        Study tech packs thoroughly

·        Follow-up for development samples, artwork approvals, fabric approvals etc.

·        Prepare costing sheets with all the necessary breakdowns from factories

·        Communicate with factories on lab dip, fabric, proto submission based on set timelines

·        Monitor production as per T&A

·        Ensure smooth communication with customers and suppliers on day to day merchandising activities and approvals

·        Liaise with the fabric mills and suppliers

·        ahead of design packs to develop new fabrics and finishes to reduce lead time

·        Ensure all suppliers are using nominated sources for trims

·        Provide monthly intelligence report to the business on actual and potential rises and falls in current cost factors

·        Visit factories regularly to get market intelligence

·        Ensure and monitor shipment of the product


Employment status - Full time 

Educational  Background- Graduate in a textile manufacturing / Apparel Merchandising from well reputed institute.

Experience requirement - At least 2 years on working area.

Additional requirement - 

·        At least 2 years merchandising experience in a reputed buying office or factory in Sweaters

·        Must have experience of yarns, product development, accessories, costing etc.

  • Additional Job Requirements:
  • Should be able to handle MIS entries
  • Good knowledge in costing and knowing the current yarn prices in the market
  • Should have excellent understanding of Sweater technical / production process
  • Must have skills in examining and establishing proper merchandising operations and procedures
  • Should have ideas about effective communication for raw materials, booking and delivery
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact and build relationships work as a team
  • Should be well-groomed, smart and energetic
  • Strong presentation and delivery skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, aiming for perfection
  • Excellent written and verbal communication both in Bangla and English
  • IT proficiency - advance level skill is a MUST in MS Office package (Especially PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Should be proactive and dynamic, ability to work hard efficiently
  • Ability to multi task and remain organized, meet deadlines.
